Michelle "ChellieFig" Figueiredo graduated magna cum laude from Rider University with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience, B.A. in Dance Performance, and a certificate in leadership. Michelle was a Mildred C. Hawkins Fine Arts Endowed Scholarship recipient and was selected to be in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2012/2013. Michelle was in four honor societies, one of which is the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. Throughout college, she trained with American Repertory Ballet at the Princeton Ballet School, served as a member/choreographer of the Rider Dance Ensemble, and was the Vice President for the Rider Dance Team.
Michelle is a former four-year veteran and two-year captain of the NBA’s Sixers Dancers. While representing the Sixers Dancers, she has performed internationally across China on an NBA China Tour (4x). Michelle was also was selected to represent the Sixers Dancers on the NBA All Star Dance Team held in New Orleans, Louisiana (2014) and was invited back to perform at the NBA All Star Game in New York City (2015). She has also appeared on local television channels, radio stations, and performed back-up for various artists.
Currently, Michelle is a versatile, freelance dance artist based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She continues to advance her dance career by training regularly in all styles, dancing with AJ Harper Dance Project and separately under Melissa Rector. Most recently, she performed in HONEY for Philly Fringe (September 2019) and in the Come Together Dance Festival (November 2019).
Additionally, Michelle is a passionate dance instructor that travels both domestically & internationally to work with different dance studios and dance teams. (High-school, college, & NBA Dance Teams.) In the summer of 2019, Michelle taught classes at various dance studios in Germany, choreographed and set a piece, and had the opportunity to work with the Liberty Dance Team in Stuttgart, Germany.
